Homemade pasta (mis)adventure

Helping mama roll out the dough for spaghetti noodles
cutting them with the pizza cutter
Lily's turn

ta-da the raw noodles. notice they are a little thick, and um piled on each other. 2 things that should have raised a red flag, but didn't. they turned out more like eating mini loaves of bread smothered in homemade sauce. opps Ollie, for his part LOVED them.

Oh springtime is coming

It started to be warmish out so we bought a 1/4 of a watermelon and ate our lunch outside last week. thankfully its been getting even warmer so we've started to eat lunch outside more often.

Ollie likes watermelon alot..happy in her purple spring jacket
ready for spring in his red sox gear.

Beachin' it

Took a little adventure this past weekend to a beach. It was sunny and almost 50 and we'd been sick all week so we were excited for outdoor time!

people and dog watching
writing his name in the sand
exploring the beach

and 5 guys burgers for supper. a VERY successful outing :)

Donuts!

What one needs after a week of everyone being sick, is saturday morning homemade donuts!

Friday's helpers model with the proofed donuts which await the pre heating oven:
the "holes'
the donuts (um we made ALOT)
The finished butter-dipped rolled-in-cinnamon-sugar delights. oh my my my (that's just the ones we could hold off eating long enough for a picture ;) )

Ollie likes it!
EVERYONE likes it ;)

Baked yummy goodness. check out 101cookbooks for the recipe!

Castle Island

We're a bit behind, my apologies. Blame it on nausea.

About um, ahem, a month ago...or so, it was sunny and cheery enough out that after church we ventured to Castle Island on the harbor in south Boston. It was cold but sunny and we ran around enough to not get frostbite

skipping rocks in the ocean. ahhhh with mittens and hats. brrrrr

listening and talking through the speaker thingy at one of the playgrounds . It was really neat!

what did you say?

the other end of the speaker emerges

there was a cool fort at the actual castle "island" bit (really large one in fact) and ANOTHER double playground. so pretty much, it was heaven. Oh yeah and you can see planes land at Logan and watch giant ships and oil tankers come in. This is really our kind of place.
