The end of a wonderful birthday event

After dinner it was time to walk to the dairy bar for the topper of a whole day of birthday events. Modeling the other side of the "fancy dress" worn for the party
papa leads the way with the cousins (all that's left of the party)
molly models cutely (she was so cute I couldn't help post the pic ;)
thankfully, the dress is not too fancy to eat alot of soft serve in....
the ladies eating daintily

bruce wore half his ice cream (with sprinkles!)

papa walks the birthday girl back to the house. very sweet

Ollie ready in his pj's for the van ride home. being pretend grumpy because mama came into sight

it was a very lovely day, and the birthday girl was quite pleased with it. How could she not be?

post cake and presents it was "slip and slide" time. Looking cute in the bathing suit
it turns out it's more like an over done sprinkler, and ahem, it advised not to actually let anyone...slip.....or slide....on it. But nonetheless much fun was had!

Gillian turns 3...in Maine

With Bruce's help, Lily decided she wanted one of her parties to be a "fancy" party with dresses and tea and all that. So behold her fancy Maine tea party:

The (reversible!) dress and hat mama made for her (she opened it just before the party started)
Most of the crowd of cousins and friends
Bruce modeling his tie and studly outfit-and disdain for smiling in command
mama and her girl (and our special flowers mummi bought for our hair)
the fancy menu: pb and fluff, fruit, cheese, ham, and meatballs on fancy sticks, and iced tea (also there was yummy fancy pomegranate punch)
ollie's first pb and fluff!
larger group picture (just missing Ollie and cousin Gabe)
chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, is she not my girl?!!
holding hands with her little friend, so sweet

opening presents! her favorite- a blanket for her baby doll from mummi.

then the chaos began ;)

One of the "attractions" at grammie and grandpas- the tractor ride. Grampie was in refueling while the kids waited....

group pose (note Lily is wearing the headband made by our friend Leah she opened the day before, so stylish she is)
all the born grandkids. very cute
also last weekend was the jack and jill party for auntie and Jarrod (aren't they cute as well?!) and grammies birthday, but we were too busy eating waffles to take pictures of that.

Gillian turned 3 take one

Lily modeling her baby sling I sewed her, which was her first official birthday present she opened (the 29th of may she turned 3)
at grammie and grandpas that night opening more presents (note sling still attached, one must keep one's baby doll very close at all times)
aunti Julie and almost uncle Jarrod were there to participate
ollie makes grampie play ball since he isn't opening presents

grammie bought a special fire hazard candle. it also sang the tune of happy birthday (sort of) . It was well received

and then- chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting as requested

Outing to the quarry and ocean and ice cream

Went up the coast a few weekends ago, to an old quarry with great views of the ocean.

Ollie strapped into the backpack (with bread in one hand and a cookie in the other, he's prepared for the hike.....)

always important to bring a good hat on these trips
Bruce looking like a stud
